Job Description

The Department:

WNET in Manhattan is looking for a high-performing, self-motivated, creative intern to support efforts to create buzz and build community around ALL ARTS; a new multimedia arts initiative at WNET. The successful candidate will have prior experience conducting social media influencer research and outreach and be a very strong writer. This internship will also include live event coordination and will require that the candidate have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Description of Duties:

Student will be asked to assist in influencer and community partner research, drafting marketing and event invitation/outreach copy and will be asked to occasionally attend community engagement events to join staff and volunteers in do in-person outreach at music and theater festivals.

Student's Accountability:

The student will be expected to conduct thoughtful research and draft clear marketing and engagement communications related to content and events being promoted by the ALL ARTS Community/Audience Engagement team.


The ideal candidate will have prior communications or live event internship experience and be a second-semester junior or senior in college with a demonstrated interested in non-profit arts engagement, public relations or digital marketing. The ideal candidate should be a people person with clear and effective communication skills.

Successful candidates will have a portfolio of short and long-form writing samples, including sample blog posts, social media posts, student newspaper articles, and/or press releases. Candidates should have an interest in live event production, influencer engagement and digital marketing.Love of the arts and public media is a plus.

Opportunity Profile:

This is an unpaid, semester-long internship that will translate to valuable, marketable experience driving results for WNETs new multimedia platform ALL ARTS. The position requires a 20-hour commitment per week, with flexible scheduling as needed. Paid fellowship opportunities are available through WNETs Reginald F. Lewis Fellowship and Tiger Baron Minority Fellowship Program.
