Responsibilities:This role is a unique opportunity to work with the Founder and a leading sports industry creative director to launch a new sports performance brand for female athletes. The role will have significant exposure to the worlds top athletes and benefit greatly from experience working for a talented creative director.
The role encompasses the handling of an entire technical design process for specific female sports performance apparel programs:
Reports to the Creative Director whom has 15+ years of experience making the best performance products in sport.Work with Creative Director to create seasonal direction on design, color, fabric and innovation.Partner with 3rdparty partners to create innovative IP across design and material development.Lead product development at all stages under guidance of Creative Director, create presentation boards, sketches, initiate tech pack, keeping track of trim and fabric developmentsCreate new fit blocks and pattern library, apply adjustments as neededPartner with factory to inform on style, technical details, constructionDaily communication with local manufacturing partners in NYC and/or overseasSending specs and grade rulesReview samples for compliance to measurement, fit, construction and quality standards.Schedule and manage fit sessions and take detailed notes during fittings as neededAttend Focus Group meetings to listen, learn and adjust designs during the product creation process
Qualifications:Proactive, optimistic and detail oriented team player!Bachelor degree in design or pattern-makingMinimum of 1-3 years of working experience as a Technical DesignerExperience with international factoriesExperience with local factories in New York CityExperience with communicating with various cultures and people whom English is not a first languageComputer Skills: Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office, PDM, PLM systemsExperience in women s intimate apparel or sports performance apparel preferred but not required
