Overview and Responsibilities

Do you have a passion for television? Are you a self starter? The Linear Content Strategy team at Comedy Central is responsible for the long-term and short-term strategic planning and scheduling of the linear domestic channel and the Caribbean channel. We oversee the following:

  • Determining premiere dates for series, specials, movies, and tentpole events
  • Strategically setting and adjusting the linear schedule in order to maximize ratings
  • Defining the value of ad sales units within the linear schedule
  • Scheduling the linear Caribbean feed, Sirius Radio channel, and Pluto TV channels
  • Responsibilities:

  • You will strategically program library content for the domestic linear schedule
  • You will input the domestic linear schedule into our scheduling system (PTS), ensuring that every programming slot is scheduled correctly
  • You will accurately implement schedule changes into PTS as they occur while being aware of how changes might affect internal and external stakeholders
  • You will apply Off the Clock timing updates in excel grid and in PTS
  • You will anticipate implications of scheduling changes (fully aware of complete process and what other steps are needed besides the direction given in order to ensure that the scheduling task is fully complete)
  • You will have the ability to work across larger entertainment group and be aware of strategic cross-net priorities
  • You will input metadata into PTS for listings providers
  • You will create new content blocks in scheduling system for Caribbean feed
  • Schedule Caribbean feed in Excel and scheduling system, mirroring domestic premiere priorities
  • Act as sufficient back-up support for Sr. Manager
  • Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1-3 years of programming, scheduling, or content strategy experience (strong internship experience considered)
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Additional Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of the linear television landscape
  • Proactive nature with the ability to work independently as needed
  • Experience working in scheduling/traffic software
