The URBN Summer Internship Program is an industry-leading, 10-week experience that hosts students from across the country and internationally. Our Interns have the unique opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience across a range of departments and brands with exposure to company leaders, engaging workshops/excursions and our creative & entrepreneurial culture (dogs on-campus included .)
URBN is a portfolio of global consumer brands comprised of Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Free People, BHLDN, Terrain, Nuuly and URBN Food & Beverage. We create unique retail experiences with an eye toward creativity and a singular focus on pleasing our customer.
The 2020 Program will run from June 1st to August 7th.
PHOTOGRAPHER: You have a desire to create and capture are and style.
We are looking for a highly motivated, quick learning individual who thrives in an ever changing fast-paced environment. Organization is central to this role, as the web production intern will be assisting the various production team members in putting together a multitude of photo shoots, both in studio and on location. The web production intern will work alongside producers in executing shoots from start to finish and support the studio team when needed. We are looking for an innovative person who can think on their toes and handle the many challenges and changes that come up in the production world.
Coordinate photo shoots
Work along side Production team to plan out photo shoots pertaining to the Direct business
Book travel (flights, trains, hotels) for studio and location shoots
Assist in booking locations (studios, rvs, etc), models, and hair and make up
Assist with pre-production needs as required sourcing props, compiling estimates etc.
Attend shoots as needed and handle day-to-day operations
Review budgets with producer to ensure accuracy and efficiency
Create and distribute call sheets
Assist in maintaining budgets
Enter approved invoices into budget tracker
Allocate and log monthly pcard charges
Develop relationships with internal team members
Develop relationships with outside vendors (model agencies, photographers, hair and make up artists)
Gain understanding in studio calendars for internal teams
Assist in daily operations of the web studio as needed
Assist in inspirational and competitive imagery research
Must be detail oriented
Strong communication and time management skills
Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment
Knowledge of photography is strongly suggested
What to Submit
(2) Photography Concept Board (8.5 X 11 PDF)
Put together a concept board featuring tears of images (photo shoots, editorials, etc.) that you find inspirational for the Free People brand's creative photography direction.
You may use visuals from blogs, Instagram, magazines, etc. to show your point of view but be sure to think like a Photographer when pulling your inspirational tears.
This is the creative part of the application so have fun with it, there are no major guidelines!

Complete HireVue: Within 2 weeks of submitting applications, candidates will receive an email with a link to complete a HireVue Video Interview. Candidates will have 2 days to complete this portion of the application once the email is received.
Intern Interview Day: If you are selected for an in-person interview, you will be notified on or around November 22nd. This event will be held at our Home Office in Philadelphia on December 12th and 13th. Please tentatively hold these dates in the case that you are selected to attend. If you are unable to attend Interview Day, we will do our best to accommodate you at another time but cannot guarantee it. You MUST be selected for an interview in order to attend this recruiting event.
