Position: Internships and Career Success AssistantReports to: Program Manager of Internships and Career SuccessStatus: Full-time ExemptStart Date: ImmediatelyThe JobThe Opportunity Network (OppNet) seeks a high-performing, mission-oriented individual to join its collaborative OppNet Fellows program team. The Internships and Career Success Assistant will report to the Program Manager of Career Success and work collaboratively with the OppNet Fellows team to secure internship and summer enrichment opportunities for college-level Fellows, develop and deliver innovative and culturally competent career readiness programming, and provide targeted advisory support that help Fellows graduate from college and transition to career-trackjobs.The OrganizationFounded in 2003, The Opportunity Network works with students from historically and systemically underrepresented communities in developing their skills, knowledge, and passions to achieve their college and career goals. Responsibilities- College Internships and Enrichment Opportunities (40%)o Work with the Program Manager of Career Success to identify and secure new college internship andenrichment partnerso Build, track, and maintain pipeline of college internship and enrichment partnerso Facilitate best fit placement of Fellows into summer opportunities, including student outreach, coaching,and liaising between partners and Fellowso Engage in collaborative budgeting process with the Internships and Career Success Team to leveragesummer opportunity funds and scholarships for both high school and college Fellows- Program Management (35%)o Develop and deliver culturally competent college success and career readiness programmingo Become proficient in existing outcomes measurement tools, including surveys, rubrics, and OppNet-sproprietary Career Fluency- Competency Modelo Collaborate with the Senior Program Coordinator, College Success and the OppNet Fellows programteam to design and deliver high quality and high impact events for Fellows and partners, e.g. CareerTransition Boot Camp, Winter and Summer Success Series and Summer Instituteo Generate quarterly dashboards and reports to show progress and demonstrate outcomes- College Success Support (25%)o Conduct check-in calls and campus visits with college-level OppNet Fellows throughout the fall andspring semesterso Partner with College Success team to identify programmatic ways to reinforce the education to careerconnectionQualifications- U.S. Bachelor-s degree from an accredited college/university;- Two to three years of youth development and/or career development experience;- Availability and willingness to work select evenings and some weekends;- Demonstrated ability to connect with college-level students from historically underserved and underrepresentedcommunities: Can help facilitate interactive workshops in rigorous but dynamic fashion; understands how to beboth nurturing and demanding; appreciates boundaries, but not afraid to push or challenge;- Outstanding organizational skills; detail-oriented;- High comfort level working with education professionals, professional executives, donors and board members;- Superb written and oral communication skills;- Self-starter with hunger for growth: Takes initiative; can operate self-sufficiently, but also collaboratively as partof a team;- Strong New York networks and knowledge of NYC public school system a plus; and- High degree of effectiveness - gets things done!SalaryCommensurate with experience, plus top-of-the-line medical benefits and vacation policy, 401K, accruable comp time and a great work environment.To ApplyPlease submit a resume and cover letter, outlining how your credentials relate specifically to the responsibilities and qualifications listed above, salary requirements and earliest available start date to ...@opportunitynetwork.org.
