This co-op and intern position is for the Spring 2021 semester and requires availability to work a 40 hour work week Monday - Friday 8-5.
Engineering-Construction Co-op/Interns for Speedway LLC are responsible for managing several diverse projects at any given time. These projects involve scope supporting the Speedway convenience/service store business ranging from new million-dollar-plus developments to remodeling and maintenance projects for all of our U.S. locations.
Daily job activities involve on the job training with a mentor in all aspects of project development and management. Tasks vary and may include scope definition, site and building design, drawing review, attending project meetings, project correspondence with stakeholders, maintaining project trackers, documentation management, obtaining permits, project cost estimating, evaluating and summarizing construction bid sets, plus construction supervision. Co-op/Interns may also be called upon to provide technical support to the operating components of Speedway.
Communication skills are very important while interfacing with internal business partners, contractors, and regulatory agencies. Co-op/Interns will be trained to handle a wide variety of tasks and given the opportunity to assume significant responsibility.
-Majoring in civil, mechanical, construction, or electrical engineering
-3.0 cumulative GPA or higher
- Microsoft software skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- CAD or Project Management experience would be a plus
- Able to live and work near corporate headquarters in the Dayton, Ohio area for the duration of the internship experience.
