The Santander Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) Head of Pre/Post Trade Services is responsible of and accountable for supporting and protecting CIB business activity by conducting end-to-end processes and controls throughout the whole client and product value chains while ensuring i) business partnership, ii) resource & flow efficiency, iii) quality in execution and iv) strict control of the operational risks, for the following US entities in which CIB operates: Banco Santander S.A. New York Branch, Santander Investment Services and CIB at Santander Bank N.A.

Additional Responsibilities:

Ensure the complete Pre Post Trade organization (Business Support, Core) provides effective product expertise and support to the CIB business (Markets, GTB & GDF

Ensure the department is fully compliant with US & EU regulations, Legal requirements, Compliance and Tax policies.

Provide security and compliance to CIB, concentrating the responsibilities around execution of controls, minimizing operational risk

Develop an efficient and effective Client Service & Implementation organization for an optimal and seamless experience during the onboarding process as well as for clients day to day servicing needs

Effective oversight and control of the CIB processes outsourced to the factories of the group ensuring service levels are maintained in all aspects, in particular for time-critical trade execution as well as client lifecycle support.

Develop a risk culture within the different departments, fostering a methodology of risk identification, measurement, escalation, mitigation, monitoring and continuous improvement.

Strive to develop world class pre/post trade operations through change and leaning upon Local and Global tools as well as Local and Global expertise to achieve quick time to market and efficient processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in finance or equivalent professional experience.
15+ years as a financial services professional of which at least 4 as a director of wholesale operations in a sizable entity

Strong expertise on Global Corporate and Investment Banking

Proven experience in providing a competitive strategy with timely priorities and in communicating the strategy convincingly to senior management

Expertise in managing and influencing large change programs, particularly for investment banks.

Proven track record of managing large teams and providers of outsourced services
