We are seeking an Intern \\- Combustion Research Facility Community College Internship \\(CCI\\) R&D Fellowship Undergraduate Summer
We are seeking community college student interns for 10\\-week full\\-time internship terms for Summer 2019, through the Community College Internship \\(CCI\\) program\\. Depending on the project assignment and qualifications, the intern will be responsible for setting up and running lab experiments, creating software programs to analyze data, or developing computational models and algorithms\\. Depending on the intern's skill set, the intern will work closely with a mentor on assignments related to gas\\-phase chemistry, diagnostic development, reacting flow research, engine research, or numerical methods\\.
These internships are intended for students in STEM majors at community colleges to assist on projects related to ab initio calculations of molecular structure and energetics, chemical reactivity, molecular spectroscopy, turbulent flame dynamics, reacting in\\-cylinder flows in internal combustion engines, soot formation, solar thermal materials, chemical kinetics, molecular dynamics and spectroscopy, laser diagnostics, mathematical and computational tools for uncertainty quantification, and stochastic modeling, in association with the Combustion Research Facility in Livermore, California\\.
You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:
+ Currently attending and enrolled full time\\(or scheduled to graduate in the spring\\) in an accredited undergraduate program
+ Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major
+ Minimum cumulative GPA of 3\\.0/4\\.0
+ Ability to work up 40 hours per week during the summer
+ Receiving financial support through a fellowship or educational institute program \\(see Additional Requirements below\\)
+ U\\.S\\. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident

This position does not currently require a Department of Energy \\(DOE\\)\\-granted security clearance\\.
