  • Maintain just in time inventory for all food and beverage, including alcohol.
  • Work closely with vendors for all food purchasing needs.
  • Assist in hiring, training, and scheduling Food and Beverage associates.
  • Assist in catering and beverage service for special events.
  • Assist in opening and closing responsibilities.
  • Understanding of all statutory requirements regarding a Food and Beverage operation, that all licenses, including special licenses, are timely applied for and that the conditions affecting the issues of a liquor license are not jeopardized.
  • Ensure that regular stock takes are conducted.
  • Prepare and submit on the required format all information necessary for budgeting purposes, timely and accurately.
  • Circulate throughout the restaurant and bar and maintain a high profile with customers and staff.
  • Support with social media efforts.
  • Assist in preparing sales presentations and new client contracts.
  • Assist in the creation of signage, circulars, mock ups, e-mail campaigns, on line promotions, etc.
  • Understanding of company and brand standards.
  • Enter contact information into contact management systems.
  • Assist with distribution or delivery of marketing materials.
  • Understanding of a hotel Sales and Marketing budget.
  • Build standard templates that can be populated for future sales collateral.
  • Conduct market research.
  • Will have the opportunity to participate in and learn about the production side of the industry including client meetings and lunches.
  • Procedures and steps in the recruiting and hiring process, including: the posting of job openings, reviewing resumes, conducting telephone, web, and in-person interviews.
  • The importance of employment law and compliance, specifically employment eligibility, confidentiality, proper maintenance of associate files, and forms management.
  • The inter-relationship of HR and Finance in the areas of new associate paperwork, payroll issues related to onboarding and termination, use of a payroll management database, and report generation.
  • Associate benefits management issues related to plan renewal and open enrollment, benefits enrollment and termination, troubleshooting associate benefits issues, and the customer service aspect of benefits oversight.
  • Recent graduates from a 2 or 4-year Hospitality post-secondary program with an interest and aptitude to work in the Hospitality Industry or incumbent workers in a supervisory position within a hotel.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Internet applications.
  • Students majoring in Hotel Management preferred.
  • Read and interpret business records and statistical reports.
  • Use mathematical skills to interpret financial information.
  • Analyze and interpret established policies.
  • Deal with the general public, customers, associates, and government officials with tact and courtesy.
  • Complete all assigned tasks, reports, projects etc. in a professional manner and on an on-time basis.
