Position Overview

The Analyst - DTC role within the Ralph Lauren Analytics team is responsible for generating actionable insights and recommendations that drive business performance with a focus on the Direct To Consumer (DTC) function. The candidate needs to work with DTC business users, both retail and digital business teams, in capturing and documenting requirements, testing reporting solutions and training business users on solutions. The selected candidate should possess expertise in the subject of reporting and analytics utilizing various tools like MicroStrategy and Tableau. The candidate must possess a good understanding of various retail functions like store operations, point of sale function, digital marketing and store/product productivity utilizing sales and inventory. The role requires strong partnerships with members within the Ralph Lauren IT and business communities globally.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Capture business requirements and partner with the Analytics delivery and technical team members to test and help deploy solutions
  • Participate in meetings/workshops with business teams on data and process to uncover opportunities
  • Ability to understand business problems, articulate reporting solutions and train users on solutions
  • Champion usage of reporting and analytical tools like MicroStrategy with the business user community
  • Ability to analyze data and provide insights to the business to help with business performance
  • Develop working datasets & visualizations through reporting tools and software to create effective solutions for business teams
  • Be passionate about the transformative power of data; continue to learn & apply best in class data analytics
  • Knowledge of Agile & DevOps methodologies in managing work, communicating effectively and following established IT guidelines (security, project processes, etc.)
  • Evaluate, thoroughly test and validate metrics and reporting solutions in-partnership with business teams
  • Answer ad hoc business questions and provide clarification and direction to development and delivery teams regarding use cases and functions
  • Partner with Data Science teams to explore advanced analytic opportunities
  • Partner with People and Development teams for training and Change Management support
  • Experience, Skills & Knowledge

  • Bachelors degree
  • 2+ years professional experience working with data and visualizations
  • Experience with enterprise reporting tools like MicroStrategy (preferred), Tableau, Qlik or Power BI
  • Strong analytical skills to relate to the functional aspect of the business to influence decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership
  • Must be a team player
  • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers and subject matter experts
  • Ability to work with all business divisions in a proactive manner to drive creation and adoption of meaningful analytics
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a dynamic environment
  • Analytical role/internship within a Retail company is a plus
  • Good knowledge of retail domain functions like sales, inventory, traffic, markdowns, marketing/digital
