Project Associate II, Design and Construction US-NJ-Princeton Job ID: 2019-10524 Type: Full-Time of Openings: 1 Category: Facilities Management and Physical Plant Princeton University Overview Princeton University s Office of Capital Projects (OCP), seeks a Project Associate to join our dynamic staff. This is an exciting time to join Princeton as it embarks on an ambitious, multi-year capital program. The Project Associate represents the University s interests throughout the design and construction process and is responsible for the coordination of the University s efforts and the communication plan for the project, including users, leadership, stakeholders, and external consultants and builders. The project associate will work closely with the Project Manager, Program Manager, University Architect and Facilities team throughout the course of projects. In collaboration with Project and Program Manager as well as University stakeholders, the Project Associate will organize architect selection and design processes in concert with the Office of the University Architect, and Facilities Procurement. The Project Associate will also be responsible for the selection of other professional service providers as required for projects, and will oversee contractor bidding and construction administration on select projects. Responsibilities Responsibilities include: Manage small scale projects.Support larger scale residential project teams. Maintain portfolio reports for work assigned, keeping project information in departmental reporting systems up-to-date (SharePoint, financial reporting, and project status reporting), and should be familiar with digital tools, including CADD, BIM, Primavera schedule platforms, excel and similar data-management formats. Compile contractual documentation for design and construction procurement.Manage off-campus housing project schedule, cost tracking documents, and assist with development of project budgets and funding requests.Manage off-campus housing program projects of limited scope, overseeing design and construction through communicaitons with clients.Manage small portfolio of Interior projects from project inception to completion including develop and maintain project budgets and timelines, prepare furntiute speckfications and bid packages; oversee installations, punchlist and project closeouts, prepare monthly staus reports, develop interior palette with multiple schemes, order samples and compile finsh, bluming, appliance, lighting schedules. Assist with schematic design (CAD, 3D, sketches) when required. Assist with development of construction documents for small residential and institutional projects in CAD as needed.Assist with construction administrationReview submittals, cost events and applications for payment. Visit construction sites, oversee and document construction activities.Manage small scale on-campus projects of limited scope.Perform detailed existing condition surveys and assessments. Qualifications Essential Qualifications: B. Interior Design, B. Arch or M. Arch degree from an accredited institution. Three-five years design experience, in process of internship and licensing.Residential projects and interior design experience.Experience with developing design and construction documents using AutoCAD, BIM.Ability to negotiate in a principled manner to achieve University goals and objectives while facilitating a fruitful collaboration resulting in a successful project.Knowledge with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) Preferred Qualifications Licenses and Professional Accreditation.LEED AP, WELL AP, PMP certification.Basic knowledge of Revit and BIM.
