BACKGROUND:

In 1998 we started our first website, PromGirl.com, with a simple premise: people should have access to the top special occasion dresses and they should be able to shop for them online.

Fast forward to 2019 and Occasion Brands has become the leading special occasion retailer online with three brands: PromGirl, Simply Dresses, and Kleinfeld Bridal Party. We are growing and have plans to introduce new special occasion stores online under the Occasion Brands umbrella. We also recently brought the PromGirl experience offline by opening our first store in 2018 (not to mention our Kleinfeld Bridal Party Showroom inside the Kleinfeld Bridal Salon in NYC!).

DESCRIPTION:

The Occasion Brands Operations Team is seeking a Fall 2019 intern. This is the perfect opportunity for an aspiring entrepreneur looking to gain a 360 degree view of how a fashion and technology company operates. As a member of our nimble team you will have an immediate impact on our business and see your ideas comes to life and your contributions put to immediate use. If you are an independent, creative problem solver and like to laugh, Occasion Brands is the place for you.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in day-to-day activities of NYC office operations shadowing the Dir. of Corporate Communications and Office Manager to accomplish a wide range of tasks that span many departments across the organization
  • Dream up new ideas and strategies that deliver sparkle to our employees and customers and encourage them to \"Keep Calm and Think Prom\"
  • Attend weekly dept. meetings, report on progress on current projects
  • Work on interoffice communications including internal staff newsletter and memos on a wide range of topics
  • Assist project managers, especially organizing meetings and taking notes as needed
  • DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Works well under pressure and uses good judgement when interpreting instructions
  • Someone who takes initiative and is an independent, creative problem solver
  • Must have the ability to multi task
  • Enthusiastic and excited to work with a team
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • INTERNSHIP DETAILS

    TERM: Sept 2 - Dec 20 (start & end dates are flexible)
    SCHEDULE: Typical internships are 15-18 hours per week (flexible on which days)
    COMPENSATION: College credit with a small travel stipend
