BACKGROUND:

In 1998 we started our first website, PromGirl.com, with a simple premise: people should have access to the top special occasion dresses and they should be able to shop for them online.

Fast forward to 2019 and Occasion Brands has become the leading special occasion retailer online with three brands: PromGirl, Simply Dresses, and Kleinfeld Bridal Party. We are growing and have plans to introduce new special occasion stores online under the Occasion Brands umbrella. We also recently brought the PromGirl experience offline by opening our first store in 2018 (not to mention our Kleinfeld Bridal Party Showroom inside the Kleinfeld Bridal Salon in NYC!).

DESCRIPTION:

The Kleinfeld Bridal Party Brand Team is seeking an intern for the Fall 2019 semester. This is the perfect opportunity for someone looking to learn the ins, outs, and everything in between in the world of fashion and technology through hands-on work. This intern will work closely with the Kleinfeld Bridal Party Brand Manager to support tasks and projects. If you are an independent, creative problem solver and like to laugh, Occasion Brands is the place for you.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help facilitate and coordinate affiliate program as well as our participation in bridal shows across the country (no travel required)
  • Regularly conduct research on competitors, brands (in bridal space), and other key players in the industry
  • Correspond and maintain relationships with strategic partners (Kleinfeld Bridal, brands, affiliates, etc.)
  • Liaise with Kleinfeld Bridal Party Showroom team, to ensure operations are running smoothly
  • Handle a wide range of ad hoc tasks as needed by KBP Brand Manager
  • DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Detail-oriented and task-focused
  • Go-getter attitude with the ability to problem-solve
  • A passion for brand management, specifically in the fashion or technology industry
  • Resourceful with the ability to work independently with changing requirements
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Experience working with the Google Suite of products
  • INTERNSHIP DETAILS:

    TERM: Sept 2 - Dec 20 (start and end dates are flexible)
    SCHEDULE: Typical internships are 15-18 hours per week (flexible on which days)
    COMPENSATION: College credit with a small travel stipend
