Overview Program Overview: NADAP's CareerCompass, one component in HRA's initiative to address the unique needs of improving employment and training outcomes in NYC, provides orientation, comprehensive and individual employability assessments and service coordination for adults 25 years of age and older. As the first step in HRA's programming, CareerCompass will identify and connect individuals to an education, training and/or employment track. Job Title: Job & Internship Developer Job Summary: The Job & Internship Developer will provide comprehensive business development that will generate internships and community service engagement openings for clients and maintain a job bank for client referral for job placement. Will also provide retention services to clients that obtain employment. Responsibilities Identify internship and community service engagement opportunities for clients to help fulfill their HRA employment requirements. Promote CareerCompass employment services to area businesses to create future partnerships and identify job openings and internship opportunities as they pertain to the business development strategy. Maintain working relationships with business associations within all service communities throughout New York City to identify prospective employers. Meet with clients to discuss internship and job opportunities, assist with scheduling interviews and provide post interview feedback. Screen and refer job ready CareerCompass clients for immediate job placement. Prepare and finalize internship candidates and job ready clients for interviews, including assistance with obtaining appropriate work attire. Assure clients have proper ID and documentation for interview/hire. Assess and refer appropriate candidates to Business Link, Workforce One centers and other job placement assistance services. Achieve and maintain monthly placement goals as determined by Director. For those clients placed while attending CareerCompass, verify and document day one placements to ensure that employment information is accurate and in accordance with program mandates. Establish retention goal information with clients at day one of placement. Provide follow up and retention services at 30, 90, 180 and 365 days to maintain 55% retention rate at 180 days and 45% retention rate at 365. Provide rapid replacement for clients who lost employment while enrolled in Career Compass Assist with creating and updating resumes, and cover letters for enrolled clients within three weeks of enrollment. Maintain and execute documentation and workflow through computer-based programs and technology that draws on basic software/computer skill set. May be assigned other tasks and duties reasonably related to their job responsibilities. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of related experience. Master's Degree preferred. Working in an automated on-line system, demonstrates proficiency in use of applied information technology and on-line database systems. Some prior professional experience working within a community-based organization or the government sector, directly serving an under-resourced population required. Experience working in employment services or in social service-related field preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule and to travel to various locations. Bilingual in Spanish /or 2nd language a plus.
