As part of the human resources team, the Human Resources Assistant will report directly to and provide administrative support to both the Vice President and the Director. The assistant will also provide administrative support to the department s functions including training, benefits support, employee records management, employee activities, recruitment support, and reception coverage. The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):
Providing administrative support to the Vice President and Director as well as the department, including answering telephones, handling general inquiries from staff, maintaining email/fax inbox, scheduling meetings and interviews, and maintaining employee records.
Supporting full-lifecycle recruitment efforts for internship and entry-level full-time positions by posting position announcements, reviewing a large volume of resumes; conducting interviews, reference checks, education enrollments and background checks; attending career fairs, and handling other inquiries, as needed.
Updating staff information on various organizational lists and notifying appropriate staff members of any organizational changes.
Coordinating logistics and participating in employee activities, including health and wellness programs, brown bag lunches, professional development events, and all staff meetings.
Budget, voucher, expense reporting, and departmental financial support.
Serving as a substitute receptionist for CFR s reception services area and providing member service s needs, including working some nights and early mornings.
Assisting with administration of employee benefits, HRIS, and database management.
Providing support for all aspects of human resources and partnering with the Vice President and Director on other departmental and institutional priorities.
At least one year of related human resources or administrative experience. Customer service experience at any point in career strongly preferred.
Proven ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Extremely flexible, organized, and detail oriented, with strong follow-through skills.
Excellent judgment and communications skills, with a friendly yet professional demeanor.
Experience having worked on a team and supporting senior staff members.
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel, including advanced functions such as mail merge. Experience with ADP, a plus.
Experience and/or interest in recruitment strongly preferred.
Bachelor s degree in related field with high academic achievement; interest in foreign policy a plus.
