OverviewResponsible for the System Safety/Life Safety, and Emergency Management of the 29 county Brooks Rehabilitation System of Care. This unique intern opportunity will also work directly with a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).Responsibilities Project management for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP). This project is for 13 HMGP grants that have been written and submitted to the Florida Division of Emergency Management, and valued at $51 million dollars.Project management for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Reimbursement for Hurricanes Matthew and Irma. This project is for Brooks Rehabilitation system of care approved FEMA reimbursement applications, valued at almost $2 million. Project management for Hospital, Home Health, Outpatient, Skill Nursing Facilities, and Assisted Living Facility for existing Emergency Operations Plans (EOP) and Compressive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP). Project requires collaboration with business units and make recommended revisions to existing 2018 Emergency Operations Plans (EOP) to develop the 2019 Emergency Operations Plans (EOP). Opportunity to learn how to plan, execute, and experience a community wide Mass Casualty Incident exercise later in 2019. This community exercise will include all Hospitals in Northeast Florida, Northeast Florida Health Care Coalition (NEFLHCC), Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO), and Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department (JFRD). Assist Chairman of the Environment of Care committee. Opportunity to learn about the CMS Emergency Preparedness Rule. Opportunity to network with other Hospital Emergency Managers, Directors of Security, and other Healthcare Executives within Northeast Florida.
